Monrovia – Liberia’s FIFA-badged referee, Emmanuel Mensah,
has been selected to officiate at the 2025 CAF U-20 Tournament in Egypt. The Confederation of African
Football (CAF) announced the list of selected officials on April 2, 2025, including Mensah among the distinguished referees for the tournament, which will take place from April 27 to May 18, 2025. The tournament will feature a range of referees, including top African officials, such as Houssam Benyahia (Algeria), Kokora Hugues Modest Richard (Côte d’Ivoire), Abdou Abdel Mefire (Cameroon), Dickens Mimisia Myagorowa (Kenya), and Adjovi Hugues Alain (Benin). Mensah’s selection highlights his growing reputation in African refereeing.
In addition to central referees, the tournament will also feature assistant referees and VAR officials,
including names such as Abigene Ndong Amos (Gabon), Carine Fomo Atezambong (Cameroon), and Fanta Kone Drissa (Mali), alongside VAR specialists like Maria Rivet Packita (Mauritius) and Salima Mukansanga (Rwanda).
The selection underscores CAF’s commitment to elevating the standard of refereeing in Africa, providing a platform for talented officials to showcase their skills at higher-level competitions.
